Avoiding Chemical Exposure

Laundry products leave residues averaging 2% of the weight of fabric. They surround us 24 hours a day. Residue-Free Cleansing

It can, however, make the products you use to treat these conditions much more effective.
Medications, treatments, and indeed all personal care products are impeded by residues on the skin and hair. Residue, whether from inadequate cleansing or a remnant of the cleaner or another product, can have unintended consequences. It is first of all a barrier. It can prevent good cleaning, good air and moisture transfer, proper dispersion of chemicals excreted by the skin, and also prevent medication from contacting or penetrating the skin and hair. Residue also holds odor, feeds bacteria, and can suck moisture out of the skin and hold it on the surface.

Keep in mind that the perfumee, chemicals, essential oils and fad ingredients found in ordinary personal care products and the residues of laundry detergent and fabric solutions are the most common sources of skin irritation.
